Wilbert Capehart, Jr.

Capehart, Wilbert E. Jr. "Will"(age 85), of St. Louis, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Meilink (Robert) and son, Christopher Capehart (Terry). He is grandfather of Daniel Lia, Candace Bourisaw (James), Zachary Capehart, Dustin Capehart, and Samantha Meilink and predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Sadie (nee Shamus), and his parents, Wilbert and Anna Capehart. Will was a sportsman. He loved hunting, sports, the great outdoors and games of chance. He was the captain of his tennis team in school, tried his hand at golf, and settled for watching the other sports on TV. Will was an avid fisherman and spent many a day in his boat trying to land "the big one." He also enjoyed his poker games for which he claimed to have his own "system" and he loved going to the horse races. Will was an excellent dancer, and when he and Sadie would take to the dance floor, everyone would step back to watch. He and Sadie spent almost 60 years together before her passing in 2013. Will was very outgoing with a great sense of humor and was never at a loss for words. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Assn. are appreciated. Services: Visitation at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOMES (South County), 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. (63129) on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 10:00 am to the time of funeral service at 12, noon Monday. Interment New Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. November 06, 2017, Monday
