Viola H.K. Miller Baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 96; beloved daughter of the late Harry L. King and Helen Lutz-King; devoted wife of the late I. Newton Miller; survived by her cherished niece Susan (Richard Perkins) Rode-Perkins and nephew Kenneth (Elizabeth McKnight) Boucher; Great Aunt to 5 nephews and great-great Aunt to 1 niece.
Viola, beloved wife, was married to the love of her life for 41 wonderful years, having tied the knot on a snowy Thanksgiving Day. Together, they enjoyed countless trips, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Viola dedicated 36 years of her life to teaching at St. Louis Public Schools, retiring in 1988. Her passion for education didn't end there; she continued to substitute teach with a focus on first graders in reading and language skills sharing her love for learning with the youngest minds.
A longtime and active member of Dayspring Baptist Church, Viola generously donated her time to the church and its activities, embodying the spirit of community and service. She also opened her heart and home to a foster son, whom she cared for until his passing.
Viola's legacy of love, dedication, and service will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a community that was deeply touched by her kindness and generosity.
