Sharon A. Akerson (nee Graef) on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the age of 66, baptized into the Hope of Christ's Resurrection, beloved wife of Brian Akerson, beloved sister of Kathy Gregory, dear sister-in-law of Len Gregory, Alan and Dottye Akerson, dear aunt of Regan (Nabil) Cabbabe, the late Lenny Gregory, III, Jeff (Rosalie) and Scott (Valerie) Akerson, dear great aunt of Isabella, Andrew, Alexandra, Chloe, Collin, Camryn, Alana and Jack, our dear niece, cousin and friend to many. Sharon taught in several St. Louis Public High Schools for 36 years, retiring in 2005. She was a long time member and dedicated Secretary of the Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a member of St. Louis Coordinating Council, S.O.R.C.C., S.MMA Marthas and The Gateway Needlearts Guild. Memorials to Washington University School of Medicine, 7425 Forsyth Blvd., Suite 2100, Campus Box 1247, St. Louis, MO 63105 would be appreciated. Services: Funeral Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 10:30AM at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons (South County), 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, 63129. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery.
