Sadie Capehart

July 25, 1930 — May 25, 2013

Capehart, Sadie Verna (nee Shamus), passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 25, 2013; loving wife of Wilbert Capehart for 60 years; beloved daughter of the late John and Anna Shamus; devoted mother of Cynthia (Robert) Meilink and Christopher (Terry) Capehart; grandmother of Daniel Lia, Candace Capehart, Zachary Capehart, Dustin Capehart and Samantha Meilink; cherished sister of James and the late John Shamus. Sadie was dedicated to her family, and throughout her life created dance costumes for her daughter, shuttled her son to 4:30 am hockey practices, served as fishing companion to her husband, and was always there to serve as an advisor or shoulder to cry on. Her smile could light up a room. She enjoyed crafts and hobbies of all kinds and she could sew, knit, and crochet with the best of them. For a long time, Sadie was a devout BINGO player and if not at home, she could be found at one of the local BINGO games with 10 cards spread before her. A legal secretary for about 40 years, she gave to her work as she gave to her family, tirelessly and with dedication. Sadie's legacy is the love she gave to her friends and family and the joy she brought to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
