SCHOENBECK, RUSSELL F., age 89, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Beloved husband of Doris Deffaa Schoenbeck and the late Virginia Pepple Schoenbeck, dear father of Thomas (Beverly), Stephen (Patty), Laurie (Dale) Tiemann, Becky (the late Jerry) Power, John (Reba), James (Dana) and the late Patricia Simons, our dear grandfather, great-grandfather, brother of Albert E. (the late Edna), Marjorie (Dean) Dalton, and the late Wallace (Edith surviving), uncle, brother-in-law of R. Ted Pepple (Doloris) and the late Donald (Ann surviving) Pepple, lifetime friend of Ken (Alice) Jones and the late Steve Furbacher, and friend to many. Captain, U. S. Marine Corps, 4th Div., served during World War II, survivor of Iwo Jima; former production controller at Curlee Clothing in St. Louis. His passions were reading, sports, singing the old songs and recalling the old days; avid fan of baseball and tennis, and bridge player extraordinaire. Private family visitation and service were held. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials appreciated to Bethesda Hospice or the charity of one's choice. A service of John L.
