Rosemary Tobias

Tobias, Rosemary L. (nee Hansen) Asleep in Jesus on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late James R. Tobias; mother of Tom (Kim Commack), Mark (Tina Lampe), Jana McGinty; grandmother of Emily, Nathan, and Leah Tobias, Eric Tobias, Elizabeth Bartley, Katie Kesling, and Michael McGinty; great-grandmother of four; dear sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Rosemary grew up with three siblings during the thirties in Quincy Illinois, went to Valparaiso University, and in 1953 married the love of her life, Jim "Toby" Tobias. Shortly after, Jim and Rosie's three children were born during stays in Decatur and Quincy, Illinois. In 1965, Jim's career took the family to St. Louis. Jim and Rosie spent the rest of their days there, raising three kids and spending their golden years together until Jim passed away in 2015. Rosie was a homemaker during those years, working some part time jobs, and doing volunteer social ministry work. The arrival of her beloved grandchildren and great-grand children were great joys. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff and residents of Laclede Groves who became a part of Rosie's family during her final year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Social Ministries. Visitation: Monday (March 19), 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOMES, 7027 Gravois Avenue (63116). Services: Family and friends to gather on Tuesday (March 20), at the Chapel of Laclede Groves, 723 S Laclede Station Rd (63119), 9:00 a.m. until time of service, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
