Robert Sanning

May 22, 1942 — January 27, 2018

Robert E. Sanning, 75, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born in a small town near Jefferson City, Missouri, to Herbert and Virginia Sanning. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Sanning, his three children, Sherry Sanning, Michelle Baldwin, and Matthew Sanning (Christina), two grandchildren, Emily and Eli Baldwin, brothers Jerry (Carlene) Jim (Pat) and Rich, and nieces and nephews. After retiring from Southwestern Bell, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, taking care of his chickens, and chatting with neighbors. He had a green thumb and gave away his homegrown produce and eggs to those interested. He enjoyed dining with friends, going to Branson and Silver Dollar City; he was a carpenter, wood carver, Mr. Fix It, enjoyed trying new recipes for "Sanning Sunday" dinners, and passed on many stories, talents, interests, and wisdom to his family. He was loved and admired, funny, grumpy, devoted, gentle, stubborn, and will be missed by all. "God is great, beer is good, and Grandpa is crazy." Services: Visitation will be held at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes on Lemay Ferry from 4-8p.m. on Thursday, February 1st. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi on Telegraph Road at 9:30a.m. on Friday, February 2nd. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Judes the American Cancer Society. February 01, 2018
