Austin, Robert E. "Bob" October 17, 1923 - July 10, 2017 Beloved husband of Nada Austin (nee Kabalin); loving father of Susan (Frank) Jablonski and Kim (late Gerald) Dupery; loving grandfather of Rob (Julie) Shaw and Dawn (Ben) Geringer; loving great-grandfather of Mike, Caitlin, Dan, Rilee and Brock. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and son-in-law Gerald. Bob was a proud WWII veteran (US Navy, LST 488), union Boilermaker, sports enthusiast and armchair commentator, dog-lover, weed picker, staunch Democrat and master of the stink-eye. He loved his family and always put them first. Bob and Nada celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2017. Services: Friday, July 14. Visitation 8:00-9:00 a.m., from John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Homes, 7027 Gravois Avenue (63116) to St. Joseph Croatian Church for 9:45 a.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
