Robert John Alexander

Robert J. Alexander on Saturday November 11, 2023, at the age of 90. Son of the late Charles and the late Lucille Alexander (nee, Herzler); dear brother of Gerald Alexander, the late Richard Alexander, and the late Charles Alexander; beloved husband of Cleo M. Alexander (nee, Norris); devoted father of Tim (Terri) Alexander, Mike (the late Joan) Alexander, and John (Amy) Alexander; cherished grandfather of Jeremy Alexander, Josh Alexander, Mike (Belinda) Alexander Jr., Kyle Alexander,  Katie Alexander, and Kara Alexander; blessed great-grandfather of Miley Alexander; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. 

Robert was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. After his service, Robert shared his enthusiasm and talents across many fields during his lifetime, from working in the Affton School District to retiring from the Bakery industry as a salesman. He was able to also work as an usher at Powell Hall, STAGES at Kirkwood Preforming Arts Center, and even at the original Busch Stadium for the St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball team. Robert was a huge fan of sports in general and enjoyed watching sports as well as playing fantasy football with friends. He also enjoyed a good game of poker with friends or playing video games with his wife. Robert touched many lives in his 90 years and many roles, but his biggest role was as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association. 

Visitation Friday November 17, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116. Funeral the following morning, November 18 at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery following the funeral.
