Richard Gilligan

August 2, 1934 — March 18, 2018

Richard "Dick" Gilligan was born on August 2, 1934, the youngest son of Hugh & H. Louise Gilligan in East St Louis, Illinois. He is survived by Sandra "Sandy" Montileone, his beloved companion, children Donna Gilligan-Stein (John), Micki Keklikian (Mark), Bernard P. Gilligan (Christina) and Daniel Gilligan (Jacqueline) and sister Rita Johnston. He was also a loving father figure to "Nick" Montileone (Rosa), Angela Hercules and Maria Montileone, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Dick was truly blessed. He passed peacefully on March 18, 2018, preceded in death by his son, Richard "Mike" Gilligan, his brother Bernard H. Gilligan and sisters, Betty Williams and Monica Lillis. Dick served in the United States Navy, enlisting during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed traveling and photography and his St. Louis Cardinals. GO CARDS, GO! His interests were many but our interests were the most important. He will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Society for the Blind or the Make a Wish Foundation. March 23, 2018
