Phyllis R. Lyon, entered into rest on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the age of 89 years old; Daughter of the late Harry and Marguerite Lyon; sister of the late Shirley M. (William) Snodgrass nee Lyon; beloved aunt of Paula (Brian) Willis, Dave (Tammai) Snodgrass and Leila (Al) Lichtenstein; cherished great aunt of Alex(Mary Kate) Willis, Megan(Beni) Chikuru, Brad(Amanda) Willis, Brittney(Franklin) Belt, Stephanie (Ryan) Hoover, Kristen(Brennon) Ailes, Emily, Tom and Julie Lichtenstein; 3 great-great nephews, Oliver, Dylan, and Beckett and 1 great-great niece Annabelle with a sibling due soon; longtime dear friend George Spaulding Lux Jr.
Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and remarkable achievements. She was a cherished member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, where her faith and community spirit shone brightly. Her passion for history and collectibles was evident through her active involvement in the 1904 World's Fair Society and the Rathkamp Matchcover Society. Phyllis also found joy and camaraderie in working with the Y's Men's Group collecting and sorting books for a huge book fair held once a year.
For over 25 years, Phyllis served as a senior secretary at Ernst & Young, where her professionalism and commitment were deeply valued. Outside of her professional life, she had a zest for traveling and antiquing, with a special fondness for 1904 World's Fair memorabilia.
Phyllis's life story was one of courage and determination. She was featured in an article that highlighted her heroic struggle with a heart condition, sharing how she never crossed the road alone until she reached the age of 30 following an operation at Mayo Clinic. Her journey inspired many and showcased her indomitable spirit.
Phyllis will be remembered for her faith in God, love for her family and friends, and unwavering dedication to the communities she loved. She leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
