Peggy Stampfer

February 28, 1943 — June 13, 2017

Peggy A. Stampfer passed away June 13th at her home in St. Louis. She is survived by William C. Barker of St. Clair; her son Brandon Stampfer, his wife Annie and their child, Colin, all of Washington state; William R. Barker of St. Clair; Amy Woodcock, her husband Jason and their two children, Jared and Jordan, all of Sullivan; Her brothers Rick Pickett, and Gary Goodwin; and many loving Nieces and Nephews. Peggy was born February 28, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri and was raised by Leonard and Juanita Goodwin. She attended Maynard Church of Christ three times weekly. Peggy graduated from Maynard High School in 1960. She earned her AA at Crowley's Ridge College, her BA at The University of Arkansas Jonesboro, and her MA at UMSL. After earning her MA, she continued her education further at UMSL. Peggy loved teaching. She taught various grades at various schools throughout her 30-year career. She said the highlight of her career was being able to teach in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Peggy was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to an organization that Peggy felt very passionate about and was a longtime supporter.
