Peggy Jean Hager (nee Barton) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 22, 2023.
Peggy was born on October 12, 1947, in Paragould, AR one of eight children born to Levi & Gladys Barton.
The family would relocate to the St. Louis area where Peggy met Cecil L. Hager in 1968 and was married on August 24, 1969. Peggy & Cecil were blessed with two sons Terry & Leroy. They raised their family in Mehlville, later retiring to Cook Station, MO.
Peggy was rooted in her Christian Faith, believed deeply in the power of prayer and always willing to lend a hand when or where needed.
After 42 years of marriage in 2011 Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Cecil L. Hager; her parents Levi & Gladys Barton; her 7 siblings Lonnie, Mary, Barbara, Johnny, Jimmy, Margie, and Alice.
Peggy is survived by her two sons Terry (Samantha) Hager of Festus, MO. & Leeroy (Tiffany) Hager of St. Louis, MO; Four grandchildren Terry (Brittanie) Hager of DeSoto, Nick Hager of Farmington, Zach (Tara) Hager
Of Festus, and Brittney Hager of St. Louis; Four great-grandchildren Savannah, Terry, Asher, and Oliver; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm @ JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS COUNTY, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 8:00 am @ John L. Ziegenhein & Sons County. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
