Paul Lapoint O.D.

Paul Arthur LaPoint O.D., 84, passed away, May 11, 2022. Son of; the late Rollin D. and the late Pauline, nee Trimberger, LaPoint, husband of; Sally I. LaPoint, nee Miller, father of; Jennifer L. (Dale) O’Dell, Paul G. LaPoint M.D., Todd B. (Angela) LaPoint O.D., grandfather of; Abigail, Cory, Tatum, and Chancellor, brother of; the late Rollin L. LaPoint O.D. and the late Florence L. Kling.

Paul was a retired optometrist with more than fifty years of service. He owned and operated Sappington Eye Center, a legacy which continues with his son Todd, and retired from Teamsters Local 688 where he also practiced at Labor Health Institute (LHI).  He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.  Paul was a hard worker and a handyman who could fix just about anything. In his retirement he enjoyed playing an active role in his grandchildren’s lives, as well as fishing, biking, gardening, and going out with his friends in the “Romeo Club”. Paul, along with his family, enjoyed traveling especially to, Destin, Florida, Canada to fish, and taking great USA road trips.
