Nolan Michael McCabe was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday June 21, 2017. Beloved and beautiful son of Joshua Cain and Jennifer Lynn McCabe (nee Klaus). Dearest brother of Claire Elizabeth and Kyle Robert McCabe. Precious grandson of Mike and Terri Klaus (nee Eck) of DeSoto, Missouri; Kevin McCabe of Ferguson, Missouri; Angie (nee Croce) and Ben Becker of Godfrey, Illinois; and great-grandson of Catherine Croce of Florissant, Missouri. Dearest nephew of Anne and Ryan Carl of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; Elizabeth (Libby) and Walt Schwarzenbach of Oakville, Missouri; Shea McCabe of Florissant, Missouri; and Justin Becker of Glen Carbon, Illinois. Adored cousin of Sophie, Charlie, and Emma Carl and Michael and Rosie Schwarzenbach. Nolan was born in Joplin, Missouri on November 22, 2006. Nolan was a beautiful baby. He was his Mom's little buddy. She lovingly referred to him as her "#1 Dude". He was always a joy to be around and a sweet child. As Nolan grew up he was especially fond of his beautiful big sister, Claire. He first crawled to find her and then walked to be near her. He always loved to play on his playground that his Pop and his Dad built for him. He was especially fond of "Thomas the Train", "Toy Story", "Angry Birds", and "Cars" toys and movies as a young boy. Nolan attended The Plaid Giraffe Preschool in Webb City, Missouri. In August of 2012, Nolan moved with his family to Oakville, Missouri. He started Kindergarten at Wohlwend Elementary School. He was loved by his friends, classmates, and teachers. His Mom was a regular volunteer at his school, room mom, and was able to spend many days with Nolan at school. Nolan joined Cub Scouts in 2013, He was able to hike, camp, and have many adventures with his friends through Cub Scouts. His Dad was his Den Leader and was able to lead Nolan's den meetings, take the boys camping, and teach them new things. Nolan won the Pack 648 Pinewood Derby twice as he was a gifted race car designer. Nolan loved the annual Pinewood Derby held by his Cub Scout Pack. He enjoyed camping and telling stories and acting in skits at various Cub Scout functions. Nolan was a lover of life. He was always working on a project. Nolan loved to design and make his own toys, he made "Angry Birds" figurines from clay. He made hundreds of Power Point presentations, created multiple worlds in Minecraft, and constructed many levels on Mario Maker complete with his own personal sound effects. Nolan wrote his own books about roller-coasters, sharks, Pokemon, and various other subjects. Nolan's most recent passion was for Pokemon. He collected Pokemon cards and plushies, he would spend hours organizing his card collection, creating Pokemon battles and movies starring his Pokemon and Mario plushies. Nolan enjoyed Music and Art. Nolan took piano lessons every week and recently attended his first rock concert with his sister, Mom, and Dad. Nolan participated in school musicals and Accelerated Singers at Wohlwend Elementary. He was a member of the Student Council at Wohlwend Elementary as a 4th grader, and a member of Character Council at Wohlwend Elementary as a 3rd grader. Nolan adored his sister Claire. They were best friends. They enjoyed swimming together, playing video games, telling stories to one another, and just hanging out together. There were many nights they would have sleep overs in each others rooms just to have an excuse to stay up late to spend more time together. Nolan was the best big brother to Kyle. He was patient with his younger brother. Nolan always included his little brother in his activities. They would swim together and laugh at the same jokes. Nolan would play cars and other games with Kyle. Many nights Nolan would read Kyle books before bedtime before telling him that he would "get him in the morning!". Kyle looked up to Nolan so very much, he adored his big brother. Nolan was an amazing boy who lived life to the fullest. He was a joy and a treasure to have as a part of our lives for 10 years. We love him to the moon and back and will always cherish the time that we got to spend with him. We will always remember our sweet boy and look forward to the day when we can hold him again.
