Natalie Blank

Blank, Natalie Laverne (nee Pelle) passed away on May 13, 2019 at the age of 87. "Laverne" was the beloved wife of Frederick Blank and daughter of Eugene and Sarah Pelle. She was born July 20, 1931, in St. Louis and baptized into the hope of Christ's Resurrection at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Overland, MO where she met her husband at Sunday School Teacher's Preparation. She attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Grade School, Ritenour High School, and Trade School and worked most of her life in the Railroad Industry (Frisco, MoPac, and Union Pacific). Laverne was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Myrtle Pelle, her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Harold Hopfer, her brothers-in-law, Paul Herzberg and Ray Zinnel, and a nephew, David Hopfer. Along with her husband Fred, Laverne is survived by her sisters-in-law Gracka Herzberg and Lorma Zinnel. Laverne was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews: Janniece Gray, David Herzberg, Kathleen Herzberg, Rev. Steven Herzberg, Rev. Terry Herzberg, Alan Hopfer, Barbara Pelle, Carolyn Proost, Sandra Tichenor, James Zinnel, Jonathan Zinnel, Ray Zinnel, and Robert Zinnel. She was also a loving aunt to many great-nieces and great-nephews, and even great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. Services: Visitation on Sunday, May 19, at 2:00 pm and funeral service at 3:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracksview Road. Interment at 4:00 pm at St. Trinity Cemetery, 2160 Lemay Ferry Road. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Mr. & Mrs. Fred Blank Memorial-Tuition Assistance Fund at Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis. May 19, 2019
