Naomi Yvonne Ollenberger, nee Compton, passed away on Sunday November 17, 2024, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of 46 years of the late Ralph Ervin Ollenberger; devoted mother of Jack Ollenberger, Nicholas (Jessica) Ollenberger, and Mandi (Joshua) Lang; blessed grandmother of Lila Lang; dear sister to Cliff (Trudy) Compton and Cheryl (Johnathan) Wolf; cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews; and treasured friend to many.
Naomi was born in Medford, Oregon, brining in the Spring of 1945 to parents the late Norman Kenneth and the late Della Leile, nee Shults, Compton. She was married to the late Ralph Ervin Ollenberger on June 6, 1967, and they raised their blessed family of three children together. Naomi was C.E.O. of Manhasset Specialty Company in Yakima, Washington, until 1996 when she continued her career as Director of Operation and Assistant Manager of Aesculap Inc. in Hazelwood, Missouri where she stayed until her retirement in 2009.
Naomi's dedication extended beyond her professional life, as she was a volunteer and advocate for organizations such as the March of Dimes, especially in the 1970's. She would go on to author the book "Wanted, Someone Who Cares," which is a story about a mother's life with a blind autistic child who had a 5% chance of living, motivated by her inspiring experience with her oldest son, Jack. She continued to advocate for him and many other lives for many years. Naomi's unconditional love was a priority in raising her children and granddaughter. Throughout her life, she shared unique experiences and memories each of her children. She shared invaluable insight wisdom with her son, Nicholas, and, toward the end of her life, the care and attention she gave to her children when she raised them was returned to her while living with her daughter, Mandi. And the unending joy of a growing family was felt in her relationship with Lila, her granddaughter.
Naomi was also very dedicated to the Lord and her faith. She was the daughter of the Pastor and member of Apostolic Faith Church of Portland, Oregon, for many years, where she volunteered and shared her time. One especially notable aspect of Naomi's participation in the church involved sharing her blessed talent for playing the piano, sharing music and praise with the community. Naomi's faith remained a vital part of her throughout her long life. We celebrate that she is now in the arms of her Lord.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to March of Dimes or The ASPCA in honor of Naomi.
