Nancy Beachum, nee Anderson, passed away suddenly at the age of 77. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Beachum, of St. Louis, MO, her son Curt (Megan) Beachum, of Woodbury, Vt, her granddaughter, Kagan Beachum, her sisters Pat McClane, Barbara Arunski and Kaia Anderson and her nieces and nephews Corrine Smith, Gwen Kennerly, Ben Arunski, Beth Anderzhon, Graham Goguen, Hannah Goguen and Kit Goguen.
Nancy, a devout Christian, was passionate about animals, nature and travel. She was born December 18, 1943 in Abilene, TX to Lorraine Tyner and William Anderson. The family moved to St. Louis, MO in Nancy's younger years and she graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1961. After a year in college she became a flight attendant with Delta Airlines where she met and married William Beachum and became an Army wife.
After her children were older she began a career as a travel agent, working at Maritz Travel at the peak of her career. This line of work afforded her the luxury of world travel, which she loved.
Upon retirement, Nancy became a docent for the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, MO. She also volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels in Pacific, MO.
Nancy was able to indulge her lifelong love for horses by obtaining a horse of her own. She loved spending time outdoors caring for her horse. She also adopted several dogs and cats in need of homes and was known for her ‘magic touch’ when it came to caring for all of her animals.
Nancy will be greatly missed by friends and family for her tender heart and her quirky persona. In seemingly every family photo she can be seen pulling funny faces.
A service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at a later date at an outdoor venue to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please donate to
Stray Rescue of St. Louis
or to the
Endangered Wolf Center
