Mike Congardi

Mike M. Congardi passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Born April 19, 1925 to the late Salvatore and Theresa Congiardo, he has now joined his parents and his beloved wife Madelyn, his brothers Pete, Tony and Joe and is survived by his brother Frank and sister Lena. Dear father of Michele (Russell) and Mikey (Tracy), he was the much loved grandfather of Michele's children, Angela, Anthony and Mikey's step sons Tyler and Zachary. He was the dear uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend to many. Mike lived the last five years of his life at the Little Sisters of the Poor and touched the life of each person he knew. He held a special place in his heart for Sr. Isabella who watched over him like a mother hen. No one will forget when the Fire Department came only to find no fire, but a not so contrite Mike who pulled the fire alarm on more than one occasion, or whenever an aide or a sister came into his room she was greeted with "hi, babe." All will miss him. A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM on Sat., Aug. 1, 2009 at the Little Sisters of the Poor, 3225 North Florissant, 63107. It was Mike's wish that his body be donated to Washington University School of Medicine. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
