Michael "Mike" Joseph Gibson entered into rest on Wednesday May 1, 2024, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of the late Lana Gibson, nee Welch; devoted father of the late Tammy Dierker, the late Adam Gibson, and Jennifer (Thomas) Eckstein; cherished grandfather of Matthew Dierker, Jason (Chelsea) Dierker, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Hanna Kirkpatrick, and Hayden Eckstein; blessed great-grandfather of Oliver Dierker; dear brother of the late Patrick Gibson, Debbie Denby, Sandra "Sandy" Mollar, Ronnie Gibson, Randy Gibson, the late Shawn Gibson, Tanya Redwing, and Flint Gibson; and treasured friend to many.
Mike was born on Thursday March 12, 1953, to parents the late Patrick and the late Wilma, nee Cousin, Gibson in St. Louis, Missouri.
Throughout his life, he made significant contributions through his work and dedication. After serving his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War, Mike devoted two decades to the railroad industry before venturing into entrepreneurship in the field of electrical contracting. Over nearly 30 years, he owned his own successful business.
Mike's passion for electrical work was evident in his commitment to excellence and his love for staying active both professionally and personally. Known for his resourcefulness and generosity, he was fondly referred to as a "father to many" who always took care of those around him.
Mike's legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched with his skills and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike's visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday May 11, 2024, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. A graveside service that honors his service in the military will be held at Shepherd Hills Cemetery following his visitation at the funeral home.
