Melanie R. Rowe left us on Thursday March 6th, 2025, at the age of 34. Beloved daughter of Ray and Joanne P. Rowe; cherished sister of Savannah L. Rowe; treasured niece of Lisa and Guyon Blissett, Holly and Les Rouska, Laura and Don Highmiller, and Walter P. Drew; precious granddaughter of Mary Rowe. Melanie is preceded in death by her great-grandmother Evelyn Ellsworth; and grandparents Jim Rowe, and Patricia M. and Allan N. Drew. She is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
Melanie was born in 1990 on Clark Airbase in the Philippines to parents Ray and Joanne Rowe. Melanie graduated Troy Buchannan High School with a passion in sports medicine and fashion and went on to attend Florida State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising. Following her time at FSU, she found a career as a shoe designer for Calares Footwear.
Melanie had a passion for all creative outlets, such as knitting, painting, photography, and writing. However, Melanie held a variety of hobbies and interests: running, vintage shopping, hiking, traveling, reading, cooking, and sewing. She also found great joy in her volunteer work. She volunteered at CARE STL Animal Shelter, where she met and adopted her beloved dog, Gus Gus, and enjoyed being a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters St. Louis. She also embraced the role of a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Louis, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered.
The memories and art that Melanie shared with others throughout her life will continue to be cherished for years to come. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to CARE STL Adoption Center in Melanie's honor.
A memorial visitation to honor and celebrate Melanie will be held on Friday March 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116.
