Melvin Lewis Willsey entered into rest at the age of 80 on August 20, 2024 at his home in St. Louis, MO.

Mel was born and raised in Lansing Michigan, where he attended Michigan State university, graduating with a degree in cartography. He was a veteran of both Vietnam and Cambodia, serving with the U.S. Army 11th Armored Cavalry ("Blackhorse") Regiment. He retired from a long career as a cartographer and geospatial analyst with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in 2007.

A talented ballroom dance partner to Linda, Mel also enjoyed singing in choir, art, camping, and sailing with his brothers. He will be dearly missed.

Mel was a steadfast husband to Linda, devoted father to their daughter Isabella Partin (Anthony), and grandfather to Morgan. He is also survived by his brothers Dave (Marsha) and Doug (Jo). He was preceded in death by his parents, Claremont and Isabella, and his brother John (Jane).

Mel's committal service will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
