Mary Ann Ruehl, née Sapienza, was born on April 16, 1949, in Saint Louis, Missouri, and passed away peacefully on November 17 2024, in the same city. She was a devoted Marketing Manager in the restaurant industry, where her keen insights and vibrant spirit contributed significantly to her field.
Mary Ann was known for her warmth and creativity, particularly during the holiday season when she took great joy in decorating and creating memorable gatherings for family and friends. Beyond, she cherished crafting, scrapbooking, cooking, and shopping, which showcased her artistic flair and love for bringing people together.
She was a loving wife for 55 years to John Ruehl and a devoted mother to Cheryl Ruehl and Steve Ruehl. Mary Ann was also a dear sister to Vic Sapienza and Jackie Rowark, and she held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, Tony Ruehl, Matt Ruehl, and Kelsey Cross, who affectionately called her Nana. In addition, she was a beloved sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend, remembered fondly by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held in her honor on November 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South City Chapel, located at 7027 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place on the same day at 12:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Mary Ann will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vito and Nancy (née Bono) Sapienza. Mary Ann Ruehl will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering love, lively spirit, and the memories she created with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to honor Mary Ann to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter, 11433 Olde Cabin Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141.
