Murphy, Mary Elizabeth (nee Hathaway) baptized into the Hope of Christ's resurrection on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at age 84. Beloved wife of the late Leonard L. Murphy for 53 years. Most beloved Mom of Eddie (Sherry) Murphy, Leonard (Jacqueline) Murphy, Christine (Mike) Futhey, Maureen Murphy and her 4-legged children Winnie, Tipper, and Purdie. Loving Grandma of Meaghan (Dino) Williams, Michael Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Jesse Murphy, Ashley (Rob Laptad) Murphy and Elizabeth (Geoff) Law. Dear daughter of the late Francis H. Hathaway, Sr. and Elizabeth C. Hathaway (nee Ryan). Dear sister of the late Francis H. "Hap" Hathaway. Dear special friend of Joyce Vorhies. Friend of Bill W. for over 40 years. Beloved "Aunt Mary," cousin and friend to many. She was an active and dedicated member of Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to her church, the Humane Society of Missouri, Good Shepherd Family and Children Services, or Our Lady's Inn are appreciated. Our mother was a beautiful person inside and out. Mary's legacy will be her love and compassion for her fellow human beings. She was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her and we know that heaven is rejoicing to have her home. Services: Visitation Wednesday (1/2/19) from 4 to 8 pm at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOMES, 7027 Gravois (63116). Funeral Thursday (1/3/19) 9:30 am prayers at the funeral home then to Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 am Thursday.
