Marvin A. Slavik, Age 93 of St. Louis, MO entered into rest on Friday, November 15, 2019.
Loving husband of the late Gloria (nee Stephens) Slavik; loving father of Brad (Shahnaz Ahmed) Slavik, Dan Slavik and Mindy (Ken) Walsh; Dear grandfather of Jason Slavik, Mike (Abbie) Walsh, Andrew Walsh, Sam (Holly) Slavik, Leonore Slavik, Kelli Walsh and Natalie Slavik; Beloved brother of the late Evelyn Sumner and the late Nelson Slavik; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marvin served in World War II in the Philippines and later in the occupation of Japan. After the war, he was a salesman then later a Cartographer for the Federal Government. Marvin was a musician and trumpet player. He played for his brother’s big band during High School and later in the Army Band during occupation duty. After retirement, from 20 years of Federal Service, he continued his lifelong love of wood working and also started traveling with his wife and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons. Services will be held on Friday November 22, 2019 at 9:00 am at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons. Interment immediately following services at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his wife Gloria.
