Marilyn Smith

Smith, Marilyn Ruth (nee Keller) of South St. Louis County, MO, went home to our Lord, peacefully, on Friday, June 7, 2019 at age 80. She was at home surrounded by the loving presence of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Verna Keller. She is survived by her husband, Richard Earl Smith as well as her brother and sister-in-law Alan Keller (Janet) Keller, Sr., her daughter, Tami (Tim) Behnke (nee Paul) and son, Jeffery Paul. Dear step-mother of Patrick (Denise) Smith and Joann (Brian) Donelon. Dear grandmother of Adam, Aaron and Amanda Behnke, Alyssa and Patricia Paul, Jessica, Malorie and Tricia Smith and Tommy Donelon. Marilyn grew up on her father's farm which eventually became "Keller Nursery." There, she and her family and close friends worked and played together while making the Mehlville area a more beautiful place to live. Her daughter, Tami, joined her later on to become Mrs. Green Thumb. They planted and cared for perennial gardens for their friends and loyal customers. Marilyn was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church where she participated in most social and charitable activities. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Anthony's Hospital Flower Shop as well as the Mehlville Optimist Club, as Secretary. She was a remarkably kind and generous woman who truly loved her family, cousins and friends. Marilyn loved nature and beauty in her flowers. She loved her gardens and the birds she attracted. Marilyn will be greatly missed by all. Contributions to Green Park Lutheran School, 4248 Green Park Rd. St. Louis County, MO. Visitation Wednesday (6/12/19) at Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracksview Road (63125), from 9 am to the time of funeral service at 10 am Wednesday. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Following the cemetery service, a fellowship luncheon will be held at Peace Lutheran Church. June 11, 2019, Tuesday
