Margaret Walsh

Walsh, Margaret "Peggy" Mary (Nee Phelan) Born, January 15, 1928, died January 31, 2015 at Mary Queen and Mother, Shrewsbury, MO at the age of 87. Preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Leo Phelan, and her husband, Robert E. Walsh. Peggy is survived by sons, Terence P. and Michael P. Walsh (Carolyn) of St. Louis and daughters, Maureen Walsh Lindeen (Marc) of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Kathleen Walsh Spezia (Mark) of Elliot, Maine. Peggy was the proud grandmother of Casey Williams, Matthew R. Walsh, John, Sarah, Anne and Paul Spezia, Gabriel, Aaron and Rachel Lindeen and great granddaughter, Abigail Williams. Her brother, Gerald L. Phelan (Mary), and sister, Rosemary B. Phelan, survive. Peggy's formative years were spent in Webster Groves. She attended Nerinx Hall and Fontbonne College and had a legion of friends from her school years, the Hackamore Court neighborhood in South County where she and Bob raised their four children and various work environments. Peggy was the oldest of 10 cousins on the Stretch side of her family who remained a close Irish clan through generations. Creative, artistic, an enthusiastic home decorator and lover of early Americana, Peggy shared these talents and interests with family and friends over the years. She was happiest when enjoying laughter and love with her extended family. Services: A memorial Mass in celebration of Peggy's long and fulfilling life will be celebrated March 21, 2015; 10 a.m. at St. Raphael the Archangel; 6000 Jamieson Ave. In lieu of flowers, please remember Peggy with donations to Cardinal Ritter Senior Services/Rehab Center, 7609 Watson Road, Shrewsbury, MO 63119.
