Margaret Konert

Margaret A. (Stetina) Konert, 97, of Fenton died Nov. 14, 2017. Mrs. Konert was a faithful member of St. Paul Parish in Fenton for more than 50 years and was a member of the parish's St. Ann's Sodality. She loved her Catholic faith, her family, the St. Louis Cardinals, music, baking and cooking, Scrabble, solitaire, the daily Jumble puzzle, and any good discussion. She was known for her delightful laugh and smile. She was born Sept. 18, 1920, and was preceded in death by her husband: August G. Konert. She is survived by six children: Patricia (Joe) von zur Muehlen of Richmond Heights, Dolores (Michael) McGuire of Fenton, Carolyn (Ray) Roettger of Clover Bottom, Stephen Konert of Fenton, Catherine (James) Schierhoff of Caledonia and Elizabeth Konert of Fenton; a daughter-in-law: Betty Konert of Fenton; a son-in-law: Rick Littge of Bloomsdale; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister: Theresa (the late Jess) Traiteur; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by three children: Theodore Konert, Margaret Toler and Jacqueline Littge; and three siblings: Louise Sommer, Clara (Milton "Bud") Brouk and Raymond (Delores) Stetina. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Funeral Mass will be held at noon Saturday, Nov 18, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Dr., in Fenton. Burial is in the St. John's Cemetery in High Ridge. Memorials may be made to the St. Agnes Home, the St. Vincent de Paul Society or in the form of Masses. Arrangements are under the direction of John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home.
