Marcella Jones

Jones, Marcella “GG” (nee Eich) entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in St. Louis, MO on November 11, 1928 to the late Joseph and Emma (nee Bathon) Eich. Marcella was an adored wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; a true matriarch to a family of 84. Marcella was a devout Catholic whose profound faith was apparent in her daily life. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Anthony Jones, her loving daughter Karen (Michael) Meyer, daughters-in-law Deborah Jones, Jacqueline Jones and Jane Jones, and her 7 siblings. She is survived today by her children: Carol Radake, Anthony Jones Jr, Alan Jones, Sharon (Dan) Marshak, Michele (Joe) Terbrock, Bernadette (Bill) Olliges, Bridgett Jones, Tom (Maureen) Jones, Adam (Karen) Jones, her 26 grandchildren, 14 grandchildren-in-law and 23 great-grandchildren. Marcella was an avid ceramics maker, puzzle solver, storyteller and animal lover, but the thing she loved the most was her large family and all of their family traditions.

Visitation will take place Monday, December 9th at John Ziegenhein & Son Funeral Home South County, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129 from 4pm – 8pm. A prayer service will take place Tuesday, December 10th at the funeral home at 9am followed by a procession to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4092 Blow St, St. Louis, MO 63116 for Mass at 10am, and a private burial for immediate family at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.

Marcella was a supporter of many organizations over the years, but she was very committed to helping St. Jude’s Hospital. If you would like to make a donation in her memory to St. Jude’s or to donate a mass in her name, we know she would be honored.
