Luc Thi Nguyen entered into rest on Thursday August 8, 2024, surrounded by her family, at the age of 88. Precious daughter of the late Nguyen Van Voi and the late Nguyen Thi Thien. Survived by dear older sister Nguyen Thi Cuc and dear younger sister Nguyen Thi Oanh; beloved daughter Lilian Doantrang (Loi Duong) Nguyen; cherished grandsons Peter (Christina) Nguyen, Martin Duong, and Raiden Nguyen; blessed great-granddaughter Nazareth Sessoms; along with many dear friends.
Some of Luc's favorite hobbies were going to church, sewing, drinking coffee, and eating sweets and telling beautiful bedtime stories of her daughter to her grandkids. One memory that we could all share as her grandkids, is back when she used to go to adult day care, she used to always sneak snacks home for us. Whatever food and drinks she would enjoy, she would save them for us. Another memory would be the time when we were little kids. It stormed, and all of the lights went out. She would be there to comfort and protect us when we were scared. She will always be the most awesome grandma in the world.
A month before her passing, her great grand-daughter was born and brought tremendous joy to her life. She was always eager to come up to her grandkids just to meet and hold her. The look on both of their faces showed a loving bond that was meant to happen even though it was short lived, but at least now her great granddaughter has a memory of her, a happy one. Luc had always loved all of her grandkids more than anything in the world. We will forever miss you, Grandma.
Our grandmother was always sweet, strong, and stubborn all at the same time. One thing for sure is that she was always loving. No matter what pain she is in, she will always put her family first and make sure everyone is happy before her own needs. So the best word to describe her, all in one, would be "selfless."
Goodbye for now to our mother and grandma. We will always miss and love you.
