Leona Butler

April 25, 1923 — June 9, 2016

BUTLER, LEONA K. "LEE" (nee Kramp), widow of Harold J. (Bud) Butler, to whom she was married for almost 68 years prior to his death in 2010, and mother of James L. Butler, died peacefully in her sleep early morning of June 9, 2016. Lee had recently celebrated her 93rd birthday with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Jim, her daughter-in-law, Diane, grandchildren, Tim (Laura) and Jeff Butler and Julie (Eric) Gibbs, great-grandchildren George and Gabrielle Butler and Elliot Gibbs, and numerous other family members. Beloved "Nanee" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lee was the youngest child of Alma and Heisley Kramp, born April 25, 1923 in Alliance, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1941, and enjoyed going to "Cleveland Reunions" for many years. Lee worked for Ozark Airlines prior to her retirement in 1983, and she and Bud enjoyed many years of "airline employee travel privilege" which enabled them to visit their grandchildren frequently, while Jim and Diane were living out of St. Louis, and to see a lot of the world. Lee & Bud joined St. Lucas UCC in 1953 and had been faithful members there ever since. A Memorial Service to celebrate Lee's life will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, at St. Lucas U.C.C. 11735 Denny Rd. (63126). Visitation will be at the Church beginning at 9:00 am and continuing until the Memorial Service begins at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Lucas Perpetual Endowment Trust, or to the charity of your choice, in Lee's memory, would be appreciated.
