Larry spent the best 43 years of his life married to Jane, his best friend. Larry and Jane were devoted to each other from the time they were 18 and 16 years old until the very end.
Larry‘s entire 43 year working career was spent with Schnucks’ Markets. He started as a bagger and retired as a Division Manager. Schnucks became a second family to Larry, and it was there that he made many of his life-long friends.
Larry was a devoted member of Assumption Catholic Church, where he volunteered as basketball lay director, pre-marital counselor, and at numerous School Picnics. Larry loved coaching. He coached his three kids in CYC basketball and soccer, and even assisted with his granddaughter Ava’s basketball team. Some would say that he taught Jim Boeheim the importance of the 2-3 zone defense.
Larry genuinely loved life, and he lived for his family. He spent countless hours planning and looking forward to annual trips to the beach, which included making dinner reservations six months in advance. He could frequently be found on the sidelines of his grandkids games, stealing a bite of a pretzel or a few M&Ms, “Uber” driving his grandkids, singing or whistling his favorite songs, lending a hand for any project, cheering on the Cardinals, Blues, Tigers, Markers, and Spartans, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee and a bite to eat at one of his favorite restaurants.
Larry was incredibly kind, had an amazing sense of humor, and always knew how to do and a say things the right way. He will be so incredibly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory may be made to Assumption Catholic Church.
* Please note that due to St. Louis County COVID-19 restrictions that the visitation is limited to 50 people at any given time. Your patience will be appreciated if there is an extended wait time to greet Larry's family.
