Laverda "Bert" Mcdonald (Nee Reed)

Laverda “Bert” McDonald (nee Reed) peacefully entered into heaven on November 27, 2022, at the age of 88.

"Bert" was a graduate of Southwest High School 1953. She married William S. McDonald on June 25, 1955. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, digging in her garden, playing cards, socializing and later in life playing golf. She was a charter member of St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church in Sunset Hills. She enjoyed her friendships with residents and staff at the Friendship Village Sunset Hills community.

"Bert" was proceeded in death by her husband William S. McDonald and her parents Herbert and Florence (nee Nolting) Reed. She was a devoted mother of Stephen (Susan) McDonald, Judith (Keith - deceased) Turner, and Debra (John) Schettler; devoted grandmother to Amy  Welker, Daniel Turner, Laura Ratnayake, Sarah Anyan, Andrea Helmig, Brenna Pinkley, Morgan Schettler, and Austin Schettler; caring great grandmother to Taylor, Jake, Vivi, Max, Sophie, Grace, Remington, Lochlan; other cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Services: Visitation will be on Thursday December 8th from 10-11:30am at the funeral chapel of John L. Ziegenhein and Sons (4830 Lemay Ferry Road). The Funeral Service will begin at 11:30am in the funeral chapel.
