June Seiller

March 15, 1943 — April 22, 2020

June Viola Seiller, daughter of Arthur C. and Susie E. (nee Kram)  Mieger, was born March 15, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri.  In infancy she was baptized at St. Francis De Sales on Gravois Ave. and on Palm Sunday 1956 she was confirmed at Emmaus Lutheran Church where she also had attended it parochial elementary school. In 1961 she graduated from Roosevelt High School and afterwards attended a year of college.

On May 19, 1962 at Emmaus Lutheran she married Frederick Joseph Seiller with whom she was privileged to enjoy 57 years in the nuptial estate until his passing December 2, 2019.

June is survived by their children Elaine (Kenneth) Berry; Patricia (Dennis) Tapella, and David (Peggy) Seiller, as well as grandchildren; Amanda (Will) Hargrove, Natalie (Eric) Weisz, Nathan (Elizabeth)Berry, Daniel (Megan) Tapella, Andrew (Christina Cejas) Tapella, Jennifer Tapella, and Chase Seiller; and great-grandchild: Guinevere “Susie” Hargrove; also her  brother Arthur C. (Joan) Mieger and brother-in-law Lambert (Carol) Seiller alongside nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

June and her family became members of Peace Lutheran in 1963 where their affiliation since has remained.  Besides being a faithful worker, June assisted in the launch of Peace’s annual Boar’s Head Festival, sang in the Chancel Choir, was a longtime Sunday School teacher and served as Sunday School secretary also for five years, was a member of Couples’ Club, and she edited the Peace Lutheran monthly newsletter during its initial years.

Following the birth of their children and caring for them at home until they were enrolled in school, June began working as an administrative assistant for several firms until employment with McMann Architects where she remained until retirement in 1999 at the age of 56.

June enjoyed relatively good health until the advances of age weakened her condition.   In her later years she was afflicted with arthritis, underwent orthopedic surgery on several occasions and experienced lengthy rehabilitative procedures.  However, her condition did not rally.  She became immobile and homebound and finally last Monday she sustained a fall from which she did not recover, resulting in her departure Wednesday, April 22, 2020 about 6:00 a.m.  She attained the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 7 days.

Following this service she will be interred at St. Trinity Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
