Judith Zurfluh

October 22, 1947 — March 11, 2014

Judith Ann "Ladonna" Zurfluh achieved much in her life: loving wife of Robert "Bob", nurturing mother of Julianne Z. Alford (Jerry), Jennifer Zurfluh (Roman Stolarski III), Jacqueline Zurfluh Stinson (Jamie), Robert Jr. "Joe" (Taryn) Zurfluh, doting gramma of Brian, Zachary, Jesse, Lindzie, J.J., Nellie, Joelie, and Ereca, and great-gramma of three; cherished daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and patient; graduate of St. Elizabeth Academy and Lutheran School of Nursing committed mentor and sponsor; caring nurse; devoted Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Humane Society volunteer; dedicated church member; helpful tutor; and supportive friend just to name a few. Those who had the privilege, honor, and benefit of knowing her were, to say the very least, AWED by her unwavering faith in God and strength of spirit, INSPIRED by the tenacity, bravery, courage and hope she displayed in her battle with cancer as she made it clear she was no force to be reckoned with: GRATEFUL for her selfless service and sacrifice to countless individuals: ENRICHED by her source of never-ending support, honesty, kindness, and unconditional love. ENCOURAGED in the wonderful example she set by choosing to overcome personal tragedies with dignity and grace/acceptance and forgiveness. Her radiant smile, sense of humor, and positive attitude permeated any room she walked into. Her cheerful light shone brightly and spilled over onto the paths around her who are so thankful and blessed she was a part of their lives. Her resiliency, spunk, determination, positive attitude, and strong will were simply astounding. And just as she had profound beauty and bewilderment in her life, she too had it in her precious passing. She made the world a better and more comforting place just by being in it, and we could only hope to become even half of the remarkable and special person we admired her to be. She has with no uncertainty and beyond the shadow of a doubt, earned her glittering, ornate angel wings - Judy's ultimate triumph! She was our hero, and in the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald: "She was the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person we have ever known - and even that is an understatement." She is loved, she is loved, she is loved we all say!
