Juanita Moran, (née Jenkins), was born on August 30, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in Saint Louis, MO on February 22, 2025, in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 84, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Throughout her life, she embodied love and laughter, always finding joy in the simplest of moments. She was known for her radiant smile and infectious laughter that could light up a room. Juanita had a deep appreciation for the things she loved; she enjoyed shopping, relished in her southern food, adored old country music, and cherished her moments spent watching the Grand Ole Opry. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends, which brought her immense happiness.
Juanita leaves to cherish her remarkable legacy her loving children: daughters Gloria Perry and Teresa (Phil) Russo of Saint Louis, MO, and son David Wayne Moran of Nashville, TN. She was a cherished grandmother to Grant (Heather) Boschert, Michele (Joe) Polizzi, and Melissa Russo of Saint Louis, MO, as well as Nicholas Moran and Cody Moran of Nashville, TN. Her heart was filled with love for her six great-grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. Juanita is also survived by her dear brother Oddis (Mary) Jenkins and sister Betty Franklin of Nashville, TN, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all remember her fondly.
In her 84 years, Juanita experienced the joys and challenges of life with grace. She had two husbands: the late Sheridan "Curly" Lane, whom she married at the tender age of 15, and with whom she welcomed two daughters; and the late Calvin "Junior" Moran, with whom she shared a loving marriage that lasted 46 years and resulted in the birth of her son.
Juanita will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched, ensuring that her memory remains alive in the stories and laughter of her family and friends. The world is a little dimmer without her, but her love will forever illuminate the lives she influenced so deeply.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, 2229 N. Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. Visitation also will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 11:00 am until services at 12:00 Noon at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet location. Immediately following services interment will be at Hermitage Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
