Schaefer, Joseph J. entered into rest on Friday, September 22, 2023.

 

Joseph is survived by his belove wife Donna (Hammerschmidt) Schaefer; devoted father of Joe Jr., Mark (Angie), Jason (Mickey), Kevin & Susan; cherished grandfather of Zachary, Kayla, Brandi, Bryan, Andrew, Colton, Emma, Evan, Brooke, Khole, Kingston, Paityn and Brooklyn; cherished great-grandfather of 9; dear uncle of Terri, Janie, Julie, Linda, Peggy, Donna, Jerry & Doug.

 

He was preceded in death by his son Brian, parents Joseph E. & Marie A. (nee Loider) Schaefer, sisters Mary & Shirley, and niece Mary.

 

Joseph enjoyed bowling, working on cars, and spending time with grandkids and family.  He will truly be missed.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 10:00 am at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County Chapel.  Interment immediately following services to Shepherd Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers to honor the memory of Joseph J. Schaefer please consider a donation to St. Jude Childrens Research or Stray Rescue
