Vaclavek, John M., 90, of St. Louis, MO passed away on Nov. 29, 2011. Born Nov. 13, 1921, to John and Katherine Vaclavek of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lillian and brother Albert. John was a veteran of WWII and served in the Pacific Theatre in the U.S. Coast Guard from October 1942 through January 1946 and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his service. He was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and served as an officer of St. Lucas Lutheran Church for over 30 years. He is survived by his sister-in-law Doris J. Vaclavek of St. Louis, nephew John P. Vaclavek, wife Sheryl and daughter Anna of Columbia, MO, niece Ruth A. Bilbrey, husband Stephen and daughter Kayla of St. Louis, and niece Carol L. Biernbaum, husband Mark, daughter Brooke and son Luke of St. Louis. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Lucas Lutheran Church Men's Club Scholarship Fund. Services: Visitation Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 7027 Gravois Ave. from 4 - 9 PM and then on Sat. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, 7100 Morganford Rd., from 1PM until time of service at 2PM.
