KUSTRA, JOHN JOSEPH, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Catherine M. Kustra (nee Crnkovic); dearest father of Joanne M. Kustra Verebelyi and the late Rosemary A. Kustra Brown, dear grandfather of Vanessa E. Brown Prewitt (David), Gregory P. Brown and Elaine C. Brown Buehner (Aaron); great grandfather of Michael C. Prewitt and Rosemary E. Goodwin; brother of Philomena Wania and the late Joseph Kustra and Walter Kustra; brother-in-law of the late Joseph Crnkovich and Matthew Crnkovich (Helen); father-in-law of Phillip E. Brown (Carolyn); dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many. John was a Staff Sergeant in the Army during World War II, landed on Omaha Beach and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. John served as Past Commander of Barlog, Kuszaj, Zero Legion Post #422. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of St. Mary's Hospital, Laclede Grove, Bethesda Dilworth and Bethesda Hospice Care for their compassionate care. Masses preferred. Family and friends to gather at St, Joseph Croatian Church 12th and Russell on Monday, January 3rd at 10:00am for Mass of Christian Burial.
