Johanna “Jenny” Mary Scherting will be laid to rest on December 8, 2020, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Jenny will join her late husband of fifty-six years, Joseph John Scherting.
Survived by her two daughters, JoAnn (Robert) Bottger and Janice (Richard) Battles, Jenny also held dear her grandchildren, Cynthia (Scott) Cant, Timothy (Angela) Bottger, and Kristopher (Heather Jo) Bottger. With an inherent love for children and family, Jenny happily embraced her great grandchildren, Tyler William Jewel Cant, Cooper Jude Bottger, and Jagger Christine Bottger. As she celebrated life, Jenny also enjoyed her role as aunt and godmother. From her childhood through her adult years, Jenny valued the Frolo family’s love and support.
A life-long resident of St. Louis, Jenny cultivated close relationships with friends and neighbors. During the last few years, Jenny embraced a new family, the residents and staff at Southview Assisted Living in Affton, Missouri. What a remarkable, loving experience for Jenny!
Friends and family will always remember Jenny’s generosity, love for the holiday season, and athletic talents. Children of all ages anxiously awaited her boxes of homemade Christmas cookies and other treats. With a graceful, yet spirited competitive nature, Jenny also excelled at bowling and golfing. On the golf course, she particularly loved to spar with Joe about her prowess off the tee box!
Jenny Scherting will, indeed, be missed by all.
