Jim Ruby Roberts

James “Jim” Roberts entered into rest on the 25th day of May 2023, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Joyce Roberts; cherished father to Darlene (Andy) Miederhoff; dear grandfather of Danielle (Kevin) Steffen and Michael Miederhoff; great-grandfather of Ivy Steffen; brother to Pat Hahl, Dolly Pullizzo, Carol Montandon, Sonny Roberts, and the late Ruth Harmon. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, the late John Roberts and the late Elizabeth Roberts. Jim is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and served 2 tours in Vietnam. The biggest joy of Jim’s life came with the birth of his daughter, Darlene. Jim celebrated as a member of First Baptist Church of Dittmer. In his free time, Jim enjoyed bowling and outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and barbequing, as well as tinkering with most anything. Throughout his life, Jim loved being with his family, especially at dinner and gatherings.

Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63129. Funeral will be held the next day, Wednesday May 31, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
