Burgherr, Jerome H. on November 16, 2017 fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of Leanna Burgherr (nee Short); Loving father of Michelle (Paul) Paschal; dear grandpa of Cristin, Chris, Nick, & Michael; brother of Jim Wilson, John Wilson, & Jay (Cheryl) Burgherr; brother-in-law of Bob Short, Marilyn Redmond, James (Lynn) Short, Denny (Suzanne) Short, Pat (Dave) Portell, Mary French, & Rich Spencer. Our uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents John Henry Burgherr & Katheryne Burgherr, stepmom Bertha Burgherr, father-in-law and mother in-law Lee and Ann Short; brother Tom French; sister Kathy Spencer; brother-in-law Bob Redmond. Jerry was born on April 15, 1933 in St. Louis, MO. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School. Jerry received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and ROTC. He served in the US Army as a medic at Ft. Lewis, WA. Jerry and Leanna were married on September 20, 1958 in the Church of the Little Flower in Richmond Heights, MO. Jerry worked for over 20 years as a claims manager for Pacific Mutual Life before his retirement. He was also a forty year member of local 805 IATSE Theatrical Wardrobe in St. Louis. Jerry was a member of AMVETS and volunteered at Jefferson Barracks helping with bingo for the patients. His hobbies included fishing and golfing. Services: Funeral from JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOMES - South County (4830 Lemay Ferry Road) 9:30 am Wednesday to Assumption Catholic Church for 10:00 am Mass. VISITATION TUESDAY from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or AMVETS. November 21, 2017
