We mournfully announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Chartrand, of Kirkwood, Missouri. Jen passed away on October 27th at 48, after a brief and brave battle with cancer.
Preceded in death are her beloved grandparents, Ed and Mary Rose, and George and Jo Chartrand, her Aunt Judy Bible (Sam), Uncle Jim Matthes and Cousin Michael Matthes
She is survived by her parents, Deborah Rose, and Terry Chartrand (Diane Denny), brothers Mark Chartrand, Travis Chartrand and sisters Nikki Chartrand, Sarah Chartrand, Nicole Denny, Natalie Denny and nephews Cohl, Ethan & Lincoln Chartrand. In addition, she leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins, friends and colleagues who are shocked and saddened by her sudden passing.
Born December 24, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jennifer was her family’s pride and joy from the beginning. Graduating from Lutheran South High School in 1992, she began working right out of high school to earn and maintain her independence. Jennifer began her career as a real estate salesperson and moved up to become one of the youngest branch managers at Prudential Select Properties. She transitioned into the healthcare industry, working at Centene Corporation and finally at St. Louis University (SLU) Care.
She was a lover of music, a voracious reader, and a lifelong learner. Jen proudly earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University in 2018, Suma cum laude. Her passion for traveling took her all over the world, from Mexico to the Caribbean, to Ireland and most recently, Egypt. Her passion for travelling, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people and all things music provided her rich content to share her wonderful stories told only as Jen could tell them.
Jen was full of light and joy, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with her. She knew no strangers, loved her family and friends, the St. Louis Cardinals, and her rescued fur babies. Jen’s 1,000-watt smile and her contagious laughter will always be our hearts treasure.
Many have asked our family how they best can honor Jen's legacy. We ask that you spend as much time as possible with your friends and loved ones, consider donating to or supporting a local animal shelter or T.A.S.K. -Team activities for special kids or CareSTL.
