Jean Cope

Cope, Jean H. (nee Rogers) Passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 09, 2017, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Eugene R. Cope and the late Joseph P. Schmidt, Sr.; mother of Kellyjean K. Schmidt and the late Joseph P. Schmidt, Jr.; grandmother of Katie Calvo, Holly Spear, JR Spear, Joseph Schmidt, III, Amanda Schmidt, Jessica Cochran, Rose Winkle, Grace Winkle, and Abigail Schmidt ; great-grandmother of Elizabeth Spear, Josie Calvo, Sophie Calvo, Lilly Winkle, Jaden Cochran, Jamison Spear, and Crosby Cochran; dear aunt, cousin, and friend. Jean had a passion for cooking and providing a loving home for her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis County Fire Academy Scholarship Fund in honor of the late Chief Joe Schmidt. Services: Family and friends to gather at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 11, at the office of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road (63125) for a cemetery committal service.
