Janice M. (nee Reichert) Sims, 71 passed away Tuesday May 14th, 2019; beloved wife of Marion C. Sims for 47 years; dear mother and mother-in-law of Gregory A. (Cindy) Sims, Michelle C. (Chuck) Griffieth, Justin T. (Melissa) Sims & Milinda L. (Henry) Hoffarth. Dear grandmother of Brooklyn, Daniel, Auston, Chelsea, Heather, CJ, Chris, Haley, Henry, Eli, Ian, Tyler, Grant and Max. Great-grandmother, of Tristen, Ashton, Isabella, Addison, Kyah, Charlie, Rylie, Jordy & Kaylee. She was preceeded in death by her parents Thomas and Vera Reichert and her first husband Leo Hofmeister. Mom had a passion for helping others at Feed My People where she volunteered for 17 years. When her children were younger, she was heavily involved in the TREND club at Oakville Senior High. She was involved in her church, Peace Lutheran, through her Couple's club, where she was treasurer, and Pinochle Club. Her greatest joy in her life came from spending time with her family and making memories. Over the years, mom made sure she created family traditions and organized time together with extended family vacations, family picnics, and holiday celebrations. She found the most pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mom and Dad spent much of their time traveling the world, including her dream trip where she visited where the Sound of Music was filmed in Austria. Her happiest place in the world was with her feet in the sand, surrounded by her husband and family. Services: The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, May 16 from 3-7. at Ziegenhein Funeral Home at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. A short visitation service will be held Friday, May 17 at 9:30-10:30 with the funeral service proceeding at 10:30 am at Peace Lutheran Church 737 Barracksview Rd. 63125. Burial service will follow at St. Trinity Cemetery 2160 Lemay Ferry Rd. 63125. A luncheon for family and friends will be served at Peace Lutheran Church will be following the burial. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to Feed My People, 171 Kingston Dr., St. Louis, MO 63125.
