Salazar, Betty “Jan”, of Mehlville, Missouri, was born August 18, 1951, in Pinckneyville, Illinois to Carl Saltzman and Elsie (nee Eader) Thomas and entered into rest Monday, December 21, 2020 in her home at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 3 days.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Bruce Edward Salazar, her daughter, Shelly Fay Salazar and her brother, Dannie Saltzman.
She is survived by, two (2) children, Nicky Labarbera and Jim (Dawn) Salazar, four (4) grandchildren, Brian Sickage, James Salazar, Jr., Michael Labarbera and Jakob Salazar, four (4) siblings, Ryta Procasky, Carol Cirincione, Mary Jo Saltzman and Del Ray Adams, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jan was the kindest woman you could ever meet. She helped anyone in need. Her children said Jan was who they would call when they had a question about anything. If you knew Jan, you would know how important her family was to her. She made them priority. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her husband Bruce until his passing earlier this year. Jan adored each one of her grandchildren. She cherished the time she was able to spend with the family, whether it was at the beach, at home or at family gatherings. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Service will be Private due to Covid restrictions. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132-3258.
