James A. Schumann Sr.

James A. Schumann Sr. 80, passed away surrounded by his family on February 7, 2024. James affectionately went by Jim, and he was the son of the late Raymond Schumann Sr. and the late Mabel (nee Buck) Schumann. He leaves behind a beloved wife Donna (nee Konc) Schumann, loving children, daughter Missy (Jim) Jaycox and sons Tony Schumann Jr., Scott (Toni) Schumann, and dear stepchildren Jerry (Nina) Abernathy, Adam (Kristin) Abernathy and Amanda (Craig) Bailey.

Jim was proceeded in death by his brothers the late Raymond Schumann Jr. and Dennis Schuman and his sister the late Judith Hoerner.

He was the proudest grandfather of 21 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and anxiously awaiting the addition of 2 more great-grandchildren.

Jim and his brothers Ray and Dennis were second generation owners of Ray Schumann & Assoc., a company located in the Dogtown area of St. Louis. Their father Ray Schumann Sr. started the company in 1957 and it now has passed onto the third generation to carry on the tradition of quality prepress and plate making services.

To honor the life of Jim there will be a visitation on February 23, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel at 4830 Lemay Ferry Road St. Louis 63129. Services are also at the funeral home the next morning beginning at 10am on February 24, 2024. The service will be followed by the interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated and can be donated to St. Jude Childrens Research.
