James Hudson

James Edward Hudson passed away suddenly on Monday the 3rd of April 2023, at the age of 89 years old. Beloved husband of Julia “Judy” Hudson, nee Petrik; dear father of Rebecca (Steve Parker) Hudson, Lisa (Rory) Green, Richard (Annette) Hudson, Jennifer (Don Clifford) Coil, Elizabeth (Jim) Lathrop, Greg (Cassendra Munro) Neukirch, Andrea (John) Herries, and Peter (Charlotte McCloskey) Neukirch; grandfather to eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; preceded in death by his parents the late Albert Hudson and the late Leora Hudson, nee Van Winkle, as well as his sisters, the late Elizabeth Meyer and the late Michele Tanner; also survived by his first wife Alice Hudson, nee Lindsay, and cherished friend to many.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Korean War. Born and raised in St. Louis, was a 1951 graduate of Cleveland High School. He was Coordinator for the St. Louis Public Schools at Blow Community School. James was known to share his faith at Kingshighway United Methodist Church as well as Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The St. Louis Society for the Blind , Disabled American Veterans , Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic , or New Covenant United Methodist Church .

Visitation to be held Sunday April 16, 2023, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City, 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Monday April 17, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4092 Blow Street, St. Louis, MO 63116 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning one hour before Mass.
