Herman C. Halter, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the age of 94. Herman is survived by his daughter Deborah Halter (Roger Allison), two grandchildren, Renelda Allison and Charles Allison (Mindi Bergman Allison) and brothers Cornelius, Jerome, Norman, and sisters Adele Horman and Jermaine Hurst. Herman was the son of the late Lawrence Halter and Clara Lux Halter. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene and Betty Sadler and brothers Leroy and Robert. Herman was a dear uncle, cousin, godfather and friend to many. Herman was a tradesman upholster whose work was some of the finest. He and his late wife Helen developed the business to include antiques which they enjoyed both as a business and as collectors. He and his wife loved restoring houses and was handy in repairing many things. Herman enjoyed visiting old friends over the last years of his life and did so as long as he could. His lifelong delight was his church community and he encouraged each of his family members to participate as well. His greatest joy was his grandchildren. He loved watching them grow up and took delight in teaching them the many handy skills he practiced as he gave them his wonderful words of wisdom. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society. Services: Saturday, 9:30 a.m., from JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS FUNERAL HOMES, 7027 Gravois Avenue (63116) to St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. VISITATION: FRIDAY, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
