Helen Halter

March 22, 1924 — January 26, 2016

Helen L. Halter, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the age of 91. Helen is survived by her husband of 66 years, Herman C. Halter, her daughter Deborah Halter (Roger Allison), two grandchildren, Renelda Allison and Charles Allison (Mindi Bergman Allison), and one brother, Walter Bozarth. Helen was the daughter of the late Marion Lewis Bozarth and Annie Pearl Bozarth Young. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by four of her brothers, Roy Bozarth, James, Bozarth, Raymond Bozarth and Kenneth Bozarth and two sisters, Alma Bozarth and Goldie Estes. Helen was a dear aunt, godmother, and friend to many. Helen and her husband Herman worked in the furniture and antiques business for over 30 years. After the business closed, she became a real estate agent and enjoyed many successful years. She loved flowers of all kinds as evidenced by her yard. She delighted in trips to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Helen made many of the things in her house with care and attention to detail. Helen was very active over the years in the Compton Heights neighborhood, working on many projects and helping with startup of the Compton Heights Band. She loved her parish work and was key volunteer in many auctions and sales. Most important to her was her dear grandchildren who benefited by learning many unique things from her. If desired, memorial donations to Missouri Botanical Garden are appreciated. Services: Saturday, leaving John L. Ziegenhein & Sons at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. VISITATION: FRIDAY, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. January 29, 2016
